The Commercial Photography Process
Consultation and Quote
I love to start by understanding your project and the design philosophy or aesthetic that went into it, whether a modern aesthetic or inspired by history or a region of the globe. From there we can discuss the highlights, unique features, the number of spaces to shoot, and the siting of the project, putting together the number of shots needed and the best time(s) of day to shoot them. I’ll send you a formal quote and we can plan days for scouting and shooting.

Scouting
Scouting a location isn’t always required but it has a lot of benefits, from knowing exactly which shots you’ll get from a shoot to building trust that I’ll deliver exactly what you need even if you can’t be on set. You can read more about some of the reasons and advantages to a scouting session here.
Shoot Day
We'll schedule a shoot day based on the weather, clear or partly cloudy days are usually best. I keep y camera tethered to a laptop or controlled from an iPad, enabling you to see exactly what I’m doing so we can discuss composition and staging to make adjustments before capturing a final image.
Editing
After each shoot, I’ll fine tune each exposure of a scene to adjust color balances and contrast before blending them together in Photoshop and removing anything unsightly that might distract from the design.
Delivery
When the editing is wrapped, I’ll deliver the files through Dropbox for you to download. If there are any small edits to be made, you’ll be able to annotate the file directly so that any updates are taken care of quickly and easily.
